I want to express my appreciation to Larry Carver for his past two years of service as President of ISHP. I know that his involvement to keep ISHP strong, ethical and fun was appreciated by all of the membership. Thanks Larry!
I welcome my opportunity to serve as President of ISHP. I certainly look forward to those opportunities where individuals are able to enhance their professional skills through the collaboration with other ISHP members.
I encourage you that are “young” in your career to utilize information found on the ISHP web site to help you gain knowledge and work smarter. The ISHP web site posts fresh and current articles from professionals that have assembled years of valuable experience. “Standardized Specifications” are being developed presently and will be posted on the web site later this year. In addition, ISHP will give you a great platform for networking within our profession. For those of you with substantial procurement and management experience, it is time to share that wealth of information with others through the ISHP organization……get involved, contact myself or our ISHP Membership Director immediately.
I could not be more pleased with the current membership and encourage a new partnership of those that meet the qualifications listed in the ISHP membership application.
I share a quote that is very appropriate for purchasing professionals to consider each day…
Being a professional requires a belief in yourself and knowledge that you are giving your best effort to achieve the end goals you have set. Neither the time required to complete the task nor the total money expended are sufficient criteria for judging the finished work. --Shirley E. Held
Sincerely,
John Fulton, ISHP President International Society of Hospitality Purchasers
