2011 Recap and 2012 Outlook:


2011 Key Highlights:

  • Early in 2011 we addressed the issue of better and equal representation for purchasing companies with two of the biggest industry trade magazines.
  • At HD Expo we had two extremely successful sessions: 1) Owner’s Roundtable again proved to be an overbooked event hosted by many of the industry’s movers and shakers, and 2) “20 Questions” was an insightful experience with Michael Bedner, Co-Founder of HBA/Hirsh Bedner Associates.
  • At the HD Platinum Circle Awards, ISHP was awarded the Manny Steinfeld award for Charitable Giving due to our many years of giving back to the community in a significant way. To date, ISHP has raised more than $2,000,000 for Hollywood Heart and arranged for the donation of more than $2,000,000 worth of product through Gifts in Kind.
  • At HD Boutique we held our annual Fundraiser to Benefit Hollywood Heart where we raised $143,000.
  • In December, membership approved amending our Bylaws and Code of Professional Conduct to be more current and better reflect the ISHP operating procedures and standards.

2012 Outlook:

  • The Board will introduce a couple of new ISHP programs for 2012.
  • We will continue to communicate the importance of purchasing with the media companies.
  • We have kicked off a membership drive headed by Past President John Fulton.
  • The 2012 ISHP Fundraiser to Benefit Hollywood Heart has been moved to HD Expo – Monday, May 14, 2012 4:30PM – 6:30PM
